I am very fortunate in that I go to a gym that has a juice bar. I have always been very fond of juice bars and they are a nice, refreshing treat after a hard day of working out. The juice bar at my gym offers a number of great options for me, depending on what I feel I am in need of that day, and it also has options for my children that I know they will like as well.
One of my favorite things about the juice bar is that I can create all kinds of combinations to my choosing. There are some days where I want to mix pineapple and strawberry, or peach and mango. When I am able to do this with my own kids, it works out even better, because they are really into mixing their juices. They will actually rack their brains trying to devise new combinations of juices whenever we go to my gym, and the funny part is that I know that some of them have to be god-awful!
Another thing that I like about the juice bar at my gym is the fact that all of the nutritional information is listed on each juice and at each station. It makes it much easier for me to keep track of what types of vitamins and nutrients that I am taking in, as well as how much sugar, sodium and calories that I am consuming. The fact of the matter is that most of the juices are quite healthy, but some can actually defeat the purpose of a workout, depending on how many calories and sugar there is.
I also really like the fact that the juice bar allows me to really boost certain vitamins and nutrients that I need depending on how I am feeling. Case in point, when I was starting to feel like I was coming down with a cold, I made sure that my juice was fortified with Vitamin C. On another occasion, I was trying to build muscle mass and wanted to boost my protein intake after my workout, and was able to do just that using certain types of juices and supplements. It really came in handy on both occasions.
I have always liked the idea of a juice bar, and if I ever owned my own gym I would definitely have one. My kids love to go there whenever we are done exercising, and it is a great way to refresh yourself after a hard workout. I am not the only one that feels this way, either, because there is almost always a crowd around the bar when we go.
